Every player in Redwood Hills is expected to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of the city rules. Please ensure you have read them CORRECTLY and understand all rules presented. 

IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE

No Value For Life (NVL)

The Act of not valuing one's life in a realistic and understandable manor, a player must act in a way as if their character wants to stay alive and avoid serious harm or death. (Example, a player has a gun pointed at them to be taken hostage, and instead of submitting to the request of the hostage taker as to value life, instead pulls a gun and starts firing) 

LOW QUALITY ROLE PLAY (LQRP)

All players within Redwood Hills RP, are expected to present a standard acceptable role play that maintains immersion, continuity or a believable character's behavior.

Consistently performing actions that ignore context, break immersion, or undermine the shared world are considered Low Quality RP. “I hate cops just because I do”  is an example. 

Vehicle Death Match (VDM)

Vehicle Death Match or VDM is the act of using a vehicle to cause harm to another player, when a person would not reasonably do so, running over a player without Role Play justification is considered VDM. Should the player have justification for such an action, Role play interaction MUST occur prior, and should not be a repeated action. 

Anybody engaging in VDM is at risk of permanent BAN from Redwood Hills RP. 

Random Death Match (RDM)

In Role Play all gun play must be justified through the use of situational Role Play, Random Death Match occurs when a player uses a weapon or gun to injure and down another player without justification via Role Play. Anybody engaging in RDM is at risk of permanent BAN from Redwood Hills RP. 

Power Gaming

The act of using in game mechanics to further a player's advantage over another player in any scenario is considered power gaming. Shooting a player locked into an animation is an example of Power Gaming. Anybody Engaging in Power Gaming is at risk of Permanent BAN from Redwood Hills RP 

EXPLOITING/CHEATING

Abusing any game mechanics, unintended bugs, glitches, or faults to benefit yourself in a way not intended by the game or server is considered exploiting. Players are expected to report repeatable bugs to staff, especially when they provide an advantage over others. Repeated or intentional use of any exploit will result in punishment at staff discretion. Any use of external software, hardware, or tools outside of FiveM/GTA V to cheat, automate actions, or gain an unfair advantage will result in a permanent ban without warning.

META GAMING 

Meta gaming is the act of obtaining and using information and knowledge outside of the city, up to but not limited to, Streams, Discord messages, calls, public posting, word of mouth between players, other or older characters etc. remember just because you KNOW Meta information does NOT mean you should use it. 

SOUL BLENDING

Your character MUST NOT use knowledge obtained by another character you own. Even if the player decides to build a story in which two characters are related in some shape form or description, they cannot, and will not. Know anything about each other. This is not open to interpretation and must be followed. Furthermore, Characters are not permitted to share items including money, vehicles and property between characters because they are “related”. This is considered power gaming.

MIC RULES

All Players in RHRP are required to have a fully functional Mic. Medical exemptions apply, however in this case scenario the player MUST open a ticket with staff to discuss requirements and reasoning, Mute players without cause are NOT permitted. 

NEW LIFE RULE

In Roleplay if a character is “Flatbacked” and revived by EMS  you may NOT return to that active scene for at least 30 minutes. A player may also not return for the soul purpose of “Revenge RP”
New Life rule has two stages 

1. You are downed but not flatbacked : you may remember details about the events that have happened, you may not return to the scene within the specified time.

2. You are downed AND flatback (lying on your back) you may NOT remember events in that scene, who, what, where, when and why etc, and you may not return within the specified time. You may only gain knowledge of the scene from somebody who was on scene and not “downed”.

NAMING CONVENTIONS

All players are required to have non offensive, well thought out names for a character, some goofy names are permitted within reason, for example “Ben Dover” is allowed “Boaty McBoatface” is NOT allowed. If you decide to use a “Hollywood” name, ensure your character's story and arc differs from the name's Origin. For example, if your character is named Clark Kent, do not try to define your story as an ex superhero. 

W Mentality and No Crime without Roleplay

Redwood Hills RP is a story-driven roleplay server. There is no winning or losing here. Any player whose sole objective is to "win," avoid consequence. or outplay others for personal advantage is fundamentally misunderstanding the purpose of this community. Every scene is a collaborative narrative, and your actions must reflect immersion. realism, and respect for the shared story at all times. Law enforcement officers are required to roleplay as professional police, meaning they engage in scenes thoroughly, communicate clearly, and prioritise believable procedure over statistics. Criminals are expected to roleplay with depth and intent, creating meaningful conflict rather than treating situations as competitions to escape. If your focus is victory instead of storytelling, Redwood Hills is not the server for you.

 OOC AND IC TALK

When a player is in the server they are expected to maintain the character at ALL times unless using the specified terminology presented in the guidebook. Anybody found to be talking Out Of Character in the server may face consequences by server staff. New players perhaps not familiar with speaking in RP are encouraged to request a New RP’er role in discord 

Combat logging & Quitting during RP

Combat logging is the act of leaving an active scene in which guns or weapons are in play in order to protect your health or items, this is STRICTLY prohibited in Redwood Hills RP and will result in a ban. Furthermore do not exit the server via any means during a Role Play Scene with other players. However, going AFK, or stepping away from your controls for any reason, you may leave the immediate area with other players and simply use T /afk which will show all other players you’re not currently in control of your character. Exceptions will be made if you did not intend to leave I.E you crash, or you loose internet connection. Redwood Hills currently operates an Anti-Combat log system, when a player leaves a ghost of the player who left will remain in situ for approximately 10 seconds, during this time, any player still in the server can third eye (L Alt) that ghost and copy details to provide staff information in instances of combat logging. 

Medical RP

All players within Redwood Hills are expected to Roleplay Injury and with EMS appropriately, use common sense to guide the roleplay, EMS are NOT revive bots and they will NOT be treated as such, the only time it is acceptable to NOT interact with EMS staff from injuries is if you intend to be treated elsewhere.

On-going Scenes and Restricted Zones

The On-going Scene rule means players are prohibited from inserting themselves into a scene that has nothing to do with them. disrupting others RP is not acceptable and will result in a ban. In RHRP Medical buildings are strictly OFF LIMITS to violent or disruptive behavior. DO NOT use guns or weapons within the hospital premises, this includes Ocean Medical Centres. 

EMS STAFF

EMS staff are strictly OFF limits for hostage taking WHILST IN UNIFORM AND/OR ON DUTY, at Redwood Hills RP, we feel as if taking an EMS hostage is detrimental to Medical Roleplay. Furthermore EMS staff are NOT to be the victim of weapon or gun violence in any capacity. Breaking this rule will result in a ban.

SERVER RESTARTS AND CRIME 

You are expected to maintain at least a 30 minute gap between crime and server restarts. The purpose of this is to allow all players to place themselves in a position of rest (Not in an active scene) whereby they are not currently engaged once the restart happens. Purposefully exploiting the restart with Police and or EMS is considered exploiting/power gaming and infractions are punished accordingly.

RULE LAWYERING 

The act of purposefully breaking character to inform another player of a rule break they are committing, telling another player they should not/cannot do something because it is against server rules. Alternatively, using knowledge of Police or EMS SOP’s on a different soul/character is considered Meta Gaming/Fail RP/ Power Gaming.

OPEN A TICKET 

POLICE/EMS BAITING

Performing actions to bait police to chase you without valid RP reason is considered cop baiting, and falls under the Fail RP category, alternatively repeatedly causing EMS to respond to a location without reason is also considered Fail RP and will be punished accordingly. Furthermore, consistently harassing others players to “Go On Duty” to facilitate your plans for crime is considered baiting and also falls under forced RP and will not be tolerated. 

REAL WORLD/CURRENCY TRADING

It is currently against CFX TOS for a FiveM server to operate as a pay-to-win server.

Trading in-game items/currency for real world money is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. 

And will result in a permanent ban. Redwood Hills RP is not and never will be a pay to win server. No exceptions.
